What's new in Free M4a to MP3 Converter 9.2?

[+] Now you can split audio books by chapters when converting M4b files to MP3 (if the M4b contains information about chapters).

For your convenience Free M4a to MP3 Converter includes a new feature: it can split an M4b file according to its chapters to several MP3 files.

This works as follows. When you add an M4b audio book that has information about chapters (M4b chapters), Free M4a to MP3 Converter asks if you want to split output files according to the provided chapters:

If you click "No", the M4b file will be converted to MP3 as a single file, just like in older versions of Free M4a to MP3 Converter. If you click "Yes", you will see multiple tracks in the list:

Click the "Convert" button on the toolbar to convert your M4b to MP3 and split it by chapters.

[+] All supported source formats can be converted to variable bitrate MP3 (VBR MP3).

Free M4a to MP3 Converter 9.2 additionally supports variable-bitrate MP3 (VBR MP3). VBR can be enabled in the settings window:

Variable bitrate allows making MP3 files smaller by reducing bitrate for the parts where little happens (for example, pauses).

By default, the CBR (constant bitrate) mode is selected, like in previous versions of Free M4a to MP3 Converter.

[+] An option to shut down the computer after conversion.

The new version of Free M4a to MP3 Converter can now shut down your computer after converting all selected M4a, M4b, AAC, MP4, and 3GP files to MP3 or WAV, according to your settings. This may be useful if you convert many files at once.

To use the new feature, click the arrow next to the "Convert" button and choose to shut down the PC after conversion:
