I bought an Ipod Photo and when i realized that almost all of my mp3 files didnt have pictures or album cover/art i was quite upset. After searching the web for a good mp3 tag editor WITH ability to auto-download the cover art directly to the file, i found out that there's not a lot of good software that does this. Of Course you can use Musicmatch Jukebox or Windows Media Player to get pictures but they are not very good for tagging, auto-complete fields or batch renaming. I tried many programs but not one works as well as this one. I have more than 10 000 MP3 and i got them organized, renammed with correct tags and album cover very quickly using this software. It's great for my Ipod photo !!!

Play Audio Files

mp3Tag was designed to rename and to tag MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, and other types of audio files. However, it is also able to play audio files.

In the "Options" menu, "Play and association" tab, choose a player.

Play and association options

mp3Tag allows using Winamp, your system's default player, or the built-in player. The latter supports only a limited number of formats (most players don't support all the variety of audio formats either, but players like Winamp can be extended to support additional formats by using plug-ins). So, mp3Tag can process (rename or tag) all most popular formats, but only a limited number of formats can be played.

Once a player is set up, you can play audio files by double-clicking them in mp3Tag, or by choosing "Play" from the context menu, or using the following controls:

Built-in player

Please note that when a file is in use (for example, it is being played), you can't save tags or rename it. If you play it using an external player, stop the player before trying to save tags or to rename files. If you use the built-in player, it will be stopped automatically.
