mp3Tag Pro is an MP3 tag editor and renamer for MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, APE, OGG Vorbis, AAC, WavPack, MPC/MPP/MP+, and M4a/MP4 files. Tags contain descriptive information about files, such as title, artist, album, year, comment, genre etc.

If you want to edit tags or rename music files, start mp3Tag Pro. The program can be launched by double clicking its desktop icon, or by selecting it from Windows start menu.

mp3Tag Pro offers explorer-like way of navigating:

Browse to your audio files

The leftmost “Folders” area shows all folders and storage devices on your computer. Click a folder to select it. Its content will be shown in the central area, which is where you select files for processing.

If the “Folders” area is not shown, you can activate it through “View” – “Show folder tree”.

Select audio files to tag

It is also possible to work without the above mentioned tree of folders (again, this is similar to Windows Explorer). A usual “Browse” dialog can be invoked by clicking this symbol: . You may also type the required path manually into the address field. If the current folder includes subfolders, you can enter them by double clicking them. To leave a subfolder, click the “Level up” button near the address field.

If you want to process files from multiple folders, select the required parent folder and click “Scan subfolders” button (see the screenshot above). You can also select several subfolders and let mp3Tag Pro show only their contents. In order to do this, please activate “Show files only in selected subfolders” option on the “View” tab of the “Options” menu.

To select multiple files, hold the “Ctrl” key and click files one by one. You can select all files in the current folder(s) by clicking the “Select all” button, or by pressing “Ctrl” + “A”.

mp3Tag Pro is able to show or hide folders. If you choose to hide folders, no subfolders will be shown in the central area. They will be still available in the tree of folders on the left. By default, folders are shown. You can turn this option on and off in the “View” menu.

It is also possible to hide audio formats that you don’t use. To show or hide FLAC, AAC, M4a, APE, OGG and other formats, check (or uncheck) corresponding entries in the “Show files” submenu of the “View” menu.
