If you are trying to edit ID3 tags and keep getting a message that mp3Tag Pro couldn't save files, this may mean that UAC is active on your system. UAC (User Account Control) is a new feature that enforces new security policies. Your user account may have administrator privileges, but you are still not allowed to change files that you don't own. By default, all files that are outside your home directory are owned by administrator (or by other users that have created those files).

So, if you get such message, you can do one of the following:

  1. Add yourself as a co-owner of the files that you're trying to process. This can be done by right-clicking the folder in Windows Explorer, selecting "Properties" - "Security" - "Edit" - "Add". You should add your username.
  2. Right-click mp3Tag Pro's icon and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Turn UAC off (not recommended).

If you get a message that the program couldn't be initialized properly, or that some DLL file couldn't be loaded, please check your DEP settings.

It's not often I put pen to paper (or indeed finger to keyboard) but when I come across a product such as mp3Tag which has been so clearly well researched, designed and built I feel moved to do so. mp3Tag is a masterpiece, it meets all of my tagging requirements and blows all similar products away - and I have tried many (many, many!) of them. Moreover, it is marketed at a VERY reasonable price - it is an essential for all those people like me who have masses of un-tagged music - don't hesitate - pay the man his money, but the product - you will not be disappointed. Seriously, in one word - Fantastic! Keep up the good work. All the best.

Just a quick note to say how pleased i am with the mp3 tagger, it's a god send. If you own an I-pod this program is a must have.

mp3Tag is great, by the way. I am a bit of an addict when it comes to music. I download a lot of music files from blogs and many of them are poorly tagged and named. mp3Tag makes the process of making them more useful so very easy. I have hundreds of files from a time before I purchased mp3Tag and am now going through those files to fix them. I simply could not do this without mp3Tag.

I've used other MP3 Tag software but found "MP3Tag" to have everything I need to correct or create MP3 Tags.
