Read what users think about our software:

"I've been using your great tools to convert CD audio books into MP3 files so my dyslexic son can listen to them on an MP3 player with no moving parts. The tag editor and splitter/joiner make it easy to handle the often chaotic file naming and tagging of ausio book tracks, and the converter was very useful in changing WMA format files into MP3s for joining and tagging.

How to import a movie collection from EMDB

With Movienizer you can manage your movie collection while creating your own movie encyclopedia. However, if you have a considerable movie collection in another database program, you will find it boring to enter all the movies once again manually.

In this case, it is much easier to use importing.

First, you should export your collection as text from the source program. In EMDB, click "Options".

In EMDB, click Options

Go to the "Export / Printing" options. Choose "Comma separated file" as export output format. Make sure that semicolon ";" is used as "Separator character".

Set up export options

Now, check all fields that you want to export. Click "OK" to close the window.

You will be back to the main window (the first screenshot). Click "Export" on the toolbar.

The program will prompt you to enter filename and browse to the folder where you want to save the exported file.

Enter some filename to export data to a text file

Enter some name and click "Save". Remember the location where you save your file.

After a successful export, close EMDB. Launch Movienizer. Click "Tools" - "Import from text file".

Start importing tool in Movienizer

In the importing tool, browse to the previously saved file, or enter its path and filename manually. Choose "Semicolon" as delimiter. Click "Preview".

Open the exported file, choose separator, click Preview

In the "Field" column, we can see some data. As we can recognize, it is information about some movie. This means that our text file doesn't contain field names. Let's uncheck the "First row contains field names" box and select appropriate values from the dropdown lists in the "Value" column.

Manually choose fields for importing data, click Import

When finished, preview the results and click "Import". Movienizer will start adding movies to the active database. It will take some time, depending on number of movies that you have exported. A progress bar will be shown.

Finally, close the "Import" window and enjoy managing your personal movie collection in Movienizer.
